TITLE: Maintenance Worker

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain and repair school buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position ensures a clean, safe, and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify needed repairs and safety hazards.
- Assist with groundskeeping duties, including lawn care, snow removal, and debris cleanup.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment safely and appropriately.
- Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
- Assist with custodial tasks as needed to support cleanliness and sanitation.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and supplies used.
- Comply with all safety and security protocols, including fire and emergency procedures.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, contractors, and other maintenance personnel.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month; Full-Time
Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
