POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent/Board Secretary

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

LOCATION: Central Office



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced College/Business Career Training - Preferred
  • Minimum of two years work-related experience - Preferred
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge with Google programs. 
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with strong organizational skills.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Correspondence duties for the Superintendent and Board of Education (letters, emails, phone calls, scheduling meetings, etc)
  • Responsible for paperwork requiring the Superintendent’s approval:  leaves, discipline, permissions, etc.
  • Coordinate yearly Board of Education candidate filing and election.
  • Must attend all board meetings.
  • Responsible for updating the NEE (Network for Educator Effectiveness) program.
  • Responsible for A+ Grants.
  • Responsible for Board of Education reports/meetings: scheduling meeting dates, preparing packets, typing minutes, completing paperwork after board meetings, and filing.
  • Responsible for keeping all Board policies, procedures, and forms up-to-date
  • Responsible for keeping the Board of Education informed of required training.
  • Assists with coordinating building Handbooks 
  • Responsible for assisting the Superintendent in processing paperwork, keeping the calendar, planning and preparing for meetings, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Assists with coordinating paperwork related to John T. Belcher and GH Dudley scholarships
  • Responsible for keeping the district calendar updated with current activities, meetings, etc.
  • Provide assistance as needed for Core Data Screen and Data gathering.
  • Assists with communicating with teachers regarding their certification. 
  • Verifying teachers have the correct certification at hiring and throughout the year.
  • Assists the custodian of records with requests (sunshine law, legal requests, etc.)
  • Manage compliance and requirements with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education 
  • Assist with compliance and requirements with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
  • Assisting in all areas with Central Office as directed by the Superintendent

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings as assigned.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Board of Education

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  12 month; Full-Time

Salary to be established by the Board of Education

Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.

 

EVALUATION: 

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
