POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Title I.A Reading Intervention (Part-Time)

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent

LOCATION: St. Brendan School



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate 
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate

 

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Part-Time Title I.A Reading Intervention Teacher provides targeted, small-group or individualized reading instruction to support students who need additional assistance in developing literacy skills. This position focuses on improving reading proficiency through evidence-based intervention strategies aligned with district curriculum and student needs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide small-group and/or individual reading interventions to students based on identified needs
  • Implement research-based instructional strategies to improve reading skills, including phonics, fluency, and comprehension
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and assessment results
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support student learning and align interventions with classroom instruction
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention activities
  • Support a positive and encouraging learning environment for all students

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
  • Attend meetings as assigned.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Remain current on instructional practices in education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent

  • Ability to move throughout the classroom and school environment
  • Occasional lifting of instructional materials or equipment
  • Participation in Title I.A family involvement events or meetings outside of regular hours as needed

 

ATTENDANCE

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Part-time; approximately 4-6 hours per week during the school year.

Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.



EVALUATION: 

Performance will be evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent in accordance with district policies and teacher evaluation procedures.
