Job Attributes:

 

The Computer Technology Assistant position is a 12 month/full time (8 hours per day) position in the Mexico School District Technology Services Department.

 

POSITION TITLE:        Technology Assistant

LOCATION:                   District Wide

REPORTS TO:               Director of Technology

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot technology equipment at all district locations
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot software on district computers
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot peripherals
• Troubleshoot student login issues on Chromebooks, Google Apps, and various student software
• Maintain delegated portions of Active Directory
• Complete work orders in a timely fashion
• Follow oral and/or written directions
• Communicate with all members of the Technology Department
• Attend technology training and meetings as directed
• Adhere to district and computer services department policies and procedures
• Support the value of education and the mission of the Mexico Public Schools
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology which are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications of the position

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent Experience with personal computers, laser printers/networked copiers, and other peripherals
• General knowledge of the Mac operating system.  Extensive knowledge of the Windows operating system
• Experience with Active Directory
• Ability to find answers to complex technology issues
• Proficient in using computer applications and software
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to work as a member of a diverse team
• Ability to learn complex systems quickly and effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to adapt and innovate in all areas of technology.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires prolonged sitting and standing.
• Requires stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting
• Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
• Must work in a stressful and hectic environment
• Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
• Travel between district locations is required
• May require adjusting work schedule to complete tasks and/or working overtime
