POSITION TITLE: Paraprofessional
QUALIFICATIONS: 60 College Credit Hours or Paraprofessional Cert
REPORTS TO: Special Education Director and/or Building Principal
LOCATION: District Wide
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Paraprofessional is responsible for supporting classroom instruction and assisting students in achieving academic success under the guidance of the classroom teacher. This role includes providing individualized or small group support, assisting with classroom management, and helping to implement educational plans for students with diverse learning needs. The paraprofessional will also assist with clerical tasks, monitor student progress, and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must work under the direct supervision of coordinating teachers when providing instructional services.
- May provide one on one tutoring for eligible students, if the tutoring is provided at a time when the student would not otherwise receive instruction from a teacher.
- May assume limited duties that are assigned to similar personnel, including duties beyond classroom instruction.
- Assist students to complete instructional activities.
- Assist in the supervision of students as required to meet individual needs.
- Participate in training activities as required by the District.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 Month Employment
Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
Background clearance required; the results of which must be satisfactory to the District.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
